a hospital for the hurting

Who We Are

A Hospital for the Hurting

We hear this a lot at Convent. What does it mean?

Jesus told Peter to care for and feed His sheep. (John 21)
Jesus also said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me” (Matthew 25:45)

As followers of Christ we have no choice but to seek out those that are in need and to show them love that can only come from Christ. We do this in hopes that they will come to know Him as their Savior and ultimately that He would be glorified through their lives.

Some view church as a museum for saints. Others might view church as a task that should be completed to achieve purity. At Convent, we do not focus on the church as the world views it, we focus on the people that make up the Body of Christ. We focus on the church that Christ will return for. We want everyone we meet to be a part of that church. We realize that we meet people every day that are hurting. Those people do not need religion; they need someone to care for them. We pray that they can find that care at this hospital.

We are a little church in the country, well maybe not as "little" as we used to be, but we still have that small church atmosphere. A typical country church, we love our God, we love each other and we like to eat. Our pastor is Bill Padgett. You'd recognize him as soon as you come in the church. He's the one with the great, big smile and he'll be coming to greet you within minutes of entering.

We are a praying church. We know that prayer works because we see it happen all of the time. If you have a need, please bring it to us. We would love to pray for you.
Please consider this a personal invitation to be our guest.
